Minecraft Monday Yoga with Mindy!

Today as part of our kaupapa, a group of students were taught all about yoga! Mindy spent this afternoon showing students how they can rest, relax and use their bodies in a positive way. This looks fun guys! 

Christchurch City Council Draft Annual Plan Meeting

Well done to Jasinta, Ella, Caleb, Māia, and Reggae for their fantastic effort speaking at the Draft Annual Plan Meeting today in the Council Chambers. A few weeks ago, the Rowling writing group wrote in to the City Council about the safety around the school and proposed that the speed limits get reduced. Following this, students were invited to speak at the Draft Annual Plan Meeting in front of the Mayor and the rest of the Councillors. They should be very proud of what they did, and let's hope that their voices were heard!

Museum/Art Gallery Trip - Group A

On Wednesday, the first group of students went on their Museum and Art Gallery field trip. We got dropped off at the Art Gallery, did a tour, and then got to make our own piece of art - a cardboard print. We learnt lots about art, shapes and using space. Next, we went to the YMCA to have our lunch before we headed on to the Museum where we learnt all about the early settlers of Aotearoa, and even got to use some of the tools that the settlers would have used! What a great day out! We look forward to hearing what Group B and C get up to on Thursday! 

Kererū Dancers!

On Monday, Miss Haggitt was very lucky to get to go and sit in and participate in the dance lesson! Here is a sneak peek video of the dance they are learning! Go team! 

Clubs Term 2

For the first two weeks of term, Kererū students have been participating in clubs on a Friday afternoon. This term the clubs are art, technology challenge, and coding. Here are some pictures of the first session.
