The Rowling writing group have been learning about free verse poetry and looking at themes and messages in poems. This is the shared poem they came up with as a class today. Can you guess what the theme/message is?
"How do you know me?
How did you get my number?
Help.
Clouded by a shadow of words
that stab me like a knife, covered in comments of shame.
I cry myself to sleep
as words spin around my head like a tornado.
Hearing bad words when I
walk, why are you doing this to me?
As it hurts me it also hurts
others.
I feel stranded on an island
of bad words, people don’t care about how they use words."
